ATU is poised to equip students with current knowledge, and skills in ICT

A professor by the name of Samuel Nii Odai, the Vice-Chancellor of Accra Technical University says the school is ready to impact students with the knowledge and skills in Information Communication and Technology (ICT) to be locally and globally significant

He said that the ICT discipline like data Science and Business Intelligence were key abilities in the Fourth Industrial Revolution consequently the school’s determination to acquaint more projects to support students take an interest and infer the advantages.

Prof. Odai expressed this at the launch of an ICT Flex Laboratory DigiCap project, a collaborative effort between ATU and AFOS Foundation for Entrepreneurial Development Cooperation.

DigiCap tries to spike work among youngsters, and give professional direction and contact to the business at the beginning phase of their vocation.

The Flex Lab would also act as an instructional hub for students and staff as well as a Career Support Center in ATU in a joint effort with Ashesi University’s Systems Change Program.

Prof. Odai mentioned that the beliefs of the project were in accordance with the school’s scholastic way of thinking of coordinating ICT and Entrepreneurship.

He expressed that the project satisfied a piece of the vision and mission, to propel specialized knowledge by establishing a favorable atmosphere for applied research, quality education, and capability-based training, with a high effect on industry and business creation.

The DigiCap project, according to the Vice-Chancellor, would establish one more pattern for future thoughts and innovations that would make ATU, probably the best university on the planet.

Ms. Hanna Schlingmann, the Project Manager of AFOS-Ghana reported that the next cohort training would begin in June 2022 and encouraged intrigued students to apply.

She expressed that the center projects to prepare around 50 students over the next 6-months to become skilled in data analytics.

Ms. Schlingmann said the project intends to develop a unique item that ATU could market and uplift the vocations of students and experts, supporting them in becoming dependable, visionary, and enthusiastic IT experts.
