CEOs told to pay attention to the IT aspect of work
Since Information Technology cannot be overlooked in most work aspects, CEOs have been urged to pay attention to the Information Technology side of their work. Said by Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Director General, State interest and Governance Authority. Advance Tech has made work a bit easier and simple.
He also made it known to the CEOs to migrate to the use of advance Technology and to abandon the old culture. He also emphasizes on many aspects of Tech such as the Cyber Security system and called for measures to tighten and avoid leakage of information and loss of data. He made these statements at the workshop held in Accra for Cyber Security Awareness Month under the theme; A safer Digital Ghana.
Dr Albert Antwi-Boasiako, National Cyber Security Advisor urged heads of Institutions to take the security of their electronic medium serious since it will help modernize the country’s economy and that, many of the companies which took Cyber Fraud granted has heavily paid for their acts. He also added that much education for government and private institutions is needed for much knowledge on Cyber Security systems including the use of antivirus to protect data.
The Deputy Director General, National Information Technology Agency, Mr Kwaku Kyei Ofori also said. ”Therefore, best ways of keeping our data safe such as having backups for data and strong password from being exposed to hackers and not to share their passwords with third parties”.
Lieutenant Colonel Elikem Fiamavle, Ghana Armed forces also advised participants to combine letters, numbers and special characters for a strong password for example: @iM67sg1#4GR0u. He also asked them to pay attention to some emails to prevent spam and other threats and not to fall victim to online scam.
