Flutterwave Launches eCommerce Platform For SMEs In Africa
Flutterwave has joined the league of companies launching programs as their contribution towards fighting the current pandemic with its newly launched eCommerce platform for small businesses in Africa.
According to the CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, the service will still be available after the pandemic.
The company has also organized a series of webinars tagged “Grow my Business” via zoom which according to the company has been in the works for some time.
It is coming at a time when businesses especially SMEs need it the most.
Without inventory, SMEs can create online stores by visiting the website and provide necessary information including bank account details.
This is a free service to merchants, Flutterwave will only make profits from commissions on payments.
It is no more news that logistics is a major challenge facing the eCommerce industry.
To this end, Flutterwave will team up with logistics operators in Nigeria (Sendbox) and Kenya (Sendy) to help merchants with the pick-up and delivery of their products.
eCommerce is still a growing industry in Africa with a lot of untapped potential. Several SMEs are yet to take their business online and this kind of initiative by Fluteerwave will help improve how much SMEs contribute to the creation of jobs in the continent.
The likes of Jumia and Konga have done their bits and we look forward to seeing other companies join the train to move eCommerce forward in Africa.
