Nigeria Integrates 3 Startups into official efforts of combating COVID-19

Recently, the recently concluded #COVID19InnovationChallenge saw seven startups receive funding support worth $3000 from Venture Platforms and its collaborators.

Now three of those startups have had their technology integrated by the Nigeria Center for Disease (NCDC). The NCDC intendeds to use the startups’ innovative technologies to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

The three startups are part of the 7 that have created tech solutions aimed at preventing new infections across many African countries. Following the virtual Demo Day, telecommunications giant MTN, the NCDC, and the Lagos State Science and Research Innovation Council wowed to support the seven startups.

The NCDC has thus combined Infodemics, Gloepid, and COVID Triage in its efforts in containing the further spread of the coronavirus disease. For Gloepid, the NCDC has integrated its Prunedge bot as well as its app technology.

The agency has also integrated Triage’s Wellvis Health interface. The agency is also tapping into Infodemics’ app solution to help contain the spread of fake coronavirus-related news.
