Twitter Boss Jack Dorsey To Stay In Ghana
Reports show the owner of popular microblogging site Twitter, Jack Dorsey is set to stay in Ghana as his company is about to set its African headquarters in the country.
According to the Minister of Communications and Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West constituency in the Greater Accra region Hon. Ursula Owusu Ekuful, Jack Dorsey will be residing in Ghana for at least six months to stir the affairs of the company.
The comes after Twitter declared its presence on the African continent and disclosed that the company will be setting its African headquarters in Ghana ahead of some great African countries.
The company elaborated that they picked Ghana because of the role the country plays in ensuring democracy and freedom of speech in the country. The level at which the country enhances internet freedom goes in accordance with the company’s policies.
The announcement by Twitter in setting up in Ghana was met with a lot of jubilation from the Ghanaian public especially the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.
Most African countries including the good people of Nigeria were frustrated and angry over why the company will choose Ghana as its African headquarters over Nigeria who has the biggest economy in Africa with many Twitter users as well as any other African country as well.
