Backing Up Your Passwords

To backup your Firefox passwords for future reference or in order to aid you to export your passwords to a new site is very simple.

To do so, you must first install the Firefox Password exporter. The exporter is an add-on from the producers of the firefox browser. So if you are wondering how safe it is, the answer is 100%.

After successfully downloading and installing the Add-on, you can then follow the steps below to backup your passwords.

  1. Restart your Firefox browser after the add-on installation.
  2. Click on tools.
  3. Click on security and select ‘Import/Export password’

  5. Type the name you wish to save your passwords with and select the file type. Either XML or CSV file.
  6. Select the location for saving the file and click on save.
