The Barber, Your Lover and Trust!
Warning: This post has no headway.
How many people do you trust more than your barber? I mean here is a person standing behind you with a razor around your neck and tools that can make you bleed to death but you sit for him to give you the shave you desire. Your barber can mess you up in a variety of ways, other than hurt you with the tools he/she comes with. Your barber could give you a haircut that could make you look useless, but you sit and trust that wouldn’t happen. Aside your barber, do you trust anyone else?
Over the weekend, I was in Cape Coast and since I had a lot of time, I decided to go get a new shave and hope I could look “fresh”. Unfortunately for me, my usual barber was out of town and I had to go get a new person to help me out.
What is trust? Simply put, trust is trust! Nothing less than that. Someone once told me: “I trust you a little”. I have come to realize over time that, “trusting someone a little” is the polite way of saying “I don’t trust you”.
So I have another question. Maybe this is more practical. Do you trust your lover? Does your lover trust you? A colleague of mine just said: “It’s something that makes you trust a person.” I do not agree with him to some extent. I am of the view that you subconsciously trust people, but only become careful and begin to realize the trust when you actually begin to lose the trust for the person. What do you think?
Jeremiah 7:8 But look, you are trusting in deceptive words that are worthless.
Do you trust your lover? Well, I can’t answer that because well, I don’t know your lover. Should you trust your lover? A question for two of my colleagues.
Colleague 1 says you should trust your lover because that is the foundation of every successful relationship. Trust would prevent you from worrying yourself about other matters and just keeps you focused on moving forward.Colleague 2 says there are many other foundations of a relationship; and trust is just one of them. He says Sex and Cuddling are equally foundations of and a relationship and trust may not be necessary in a relationship.
Trusting someone means that you think they are reliable, you have confidence in them and you feel safe with them physically and emotionally. Trust is something that two people in a relationship can build together when they decide to trust each other. – loveisrespect.org
Do you trust your barber? Should you trust your lover? Is trust complex? Well, colleague 3 says it’s safe you don’t trust so you don’t get any surprises. As for me, when it comes to trust, I have absolutely nothing to say. I can just ask questions.
