Check Your Drive

  1. First, make a backup of your video file. This can be done by just copying and pasting your video file.
  2. Change the copied file’s extension to .avi
  3. Open VLC and head to Tools > Preferences
  4. Under input/codecs, navigate to the Files section
  5. Under the Damaged or incomplete AVI file dropdown, choose Always Fix.
  6. Open the video file with the .avi extension.
