Solutions to Network Problems on AirtelTigo after Upgrade

After their merger last year, Airtel and Tigo are slowly integrating their network and services slowly to give their subscribers a seamless experience.

AirtelTigo is currently undergoing a network upgrade to combine their network assets (that’s between the old Airtel and the old TiGO).

A statement from the telco read: “The network upgrade is to combine network assets between former Airtel and Tigo to become one big network to provide customers with wider coverage, fast internet experience and superior voice quality.”

The company has also assured subscribers that the network upgrade will be seamless without causing any disruption.

However, as we know with machines and systems, sometimes things might not go as planned.

In the unlikely event, you do experience any issues, worry not. We are here to help.

Like stated in the first part of this article, there is an ongoing network upgrade. It appears subscribers will have to juggle networks manually to gain connectivity.

Therefore, any issues (especially the loss of network) that come up will likely affect just Airtel users. Luckily, there is a workaround it. If you do face connectivity issues,  you should power off and switch on your phone again and\or manually select Tigo on your network settings to remain connected.
