How to Use Bolt Lite for Cheaper Bolt Rides in Ghana

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone in one way or the other. In our effort to contain the spread of the virus, taking public transport has become a little bit dangerous especially for those with underlying medical conditions.

This has affected those of us who take these public transports especially, “Tro-Tro”. Initially, the number of passengers was reduced but after some weeks it was restored to the normal numbers they took before the pandemic.

As a result, most of us have now migrated to the internet transports like Uber, Yango, Bolt, and the others.

As companies have launched stimulus and relief packages for their customers, Bolt has also rolled out the Bolt Lite offer to help customers throughout this COVID-19 pandemic.

In this article, I am going to show you how to use Bolt Lite for cheaper Bolt Rides in Ghana.

What is Bolt?

Bolt (formerly Taxify) is a mobile transport app that is used for requesting fast and affordable rides in Ghana. Bolt is available for download from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

Some of the features of the app are as follows:

  • You can see the price upfront for you to know how much your entire trip is going to cost.
  • You can also, add feedbacks by rating your driver based on how you experienced the ride.
  • To avoid the hassle of carrying money around, you can add your debit/credit card to your Bolt account and pay for your ride using that.
  • After any transaction on your card, an official receipt will be sent to the email you used when registering for the Bolt account.

The app is available in over 25 countries and 80 cities around the world with its headquarters stationed at Tallinn in Estonia.

What is Bolt Lite?

The Bolt Lite option is an offer by Bolt to allow customers to pay less for their trips as a COVID-19 pandemic stimulus package. The offer gives customers a 15% discount on all their rides within the stipulated period.

This offer also allows drivers to take full control of their earnings because they can switch between the regular Bolt ride and the Bolt Lite option whenever they feel like doing it.

The Bolt Lite offer is available to users at all times except for Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8 pm to 12 midnight.
