#RollOverUnusedData: Ghanaians want no expiry on purchased Data Bundles
In the last few days, social media, especially Twitter has seen the hashtag #RollOverUnusedData trending over what most Ghanaians are referring to as unfair treatment by telecommunication companies with regard to how data bundles are bought and used.
Most data bundles in Ghana expire after a specific number of days or hours, even if the bundle was not used.
AirtelTigo, earlier this year, introduced data bundles that do not expire and this has led most Ghanaians to believe that the Telcos can actually implement this.
In view of this, social media has set the stage to put pressure on Telcos. See some of the tweets below:

In fact, the telcos are really cheating us. Let's be smart too. Let's borrow from MOMO and voda cash and let's change our SIM. They've got to taste how bitter it is as well! #RollOverUnusedData

They've seen your #RollOverUnusedData & it's numbers that make them solid in the game. Just put your Voda & MTN sim in a yam phone for calls & switch to AirtelTigo for browsing. When they realize they losing the numbers on their browsing platform, they will ROLL OVER YOUR DATA!

The problem is most of the telcos in Ghana are all International brands.
Why don’t we get a home based telco which would give us better services. This would put the foreign telcos on their toes and make them improve their services. #RollOverUnusedData— Nungua Shatta Wale ?❤️ (@noelhimself) November 1, 2019

You don’t need all Telcos to join this. You just need to switch to the other side. #LifeIsSimple

I lost 118GB data last month because I traveled 9days before my expiry date. It was mine and could have saved me for the whole of this month too without buying another. Total Scam #RollOverUnusedData

Instead of Telcos to give bonuses on scratch card recharge so that customers wld buy more scratch cards for Vendors to make profits, they've rather dumped all the recharge bonuses on Mobile Money recharge so that all the profits come directly to them. Selfish!#RollOverUnusedData
